From the Creators of: The Relationship Dating Advice Lounge
You are in the right place for the best love advice for a healthy relationship. It seems as though perfect relationships and marriages are nowhere in sight. To be honest, no one relationship or marriage is perfect without putting in some hard work and dedication. The divorce rate is so high these days and a lot of marriages fail before the 3 - 5 year mark.
While blogging on another relationship site, I talked to a man who said that he has NEVER had a fight with his wife of 17 years.
While this sounds impossible, after I read his story I was pleasantly surprised by how his powerful understanding of relationships helped me to rejuvenate mine to the level it deserves from relationship to marriage.
Below are a few tips to help you preserve and maintain a healthy relationship:
I often hear people complain about their lack of time to be romantic because there are not enough hours in a day. Their time is consumed by work, school, family, cleaning, and running errands. I have the same amount of time given to me each day as everyone else does. It is how I prioritize my time and my level of “work” I am willing to put forth into my marriage.
Besides my relationship with my Creator, my time spent with my honey is most important to me. My best love advice is that even if you only have 15 minutes of free time to spare; a quick massage, cuddle, game of cards, etc. will go a long way in your relationship. If you feel you truly do not have time, invite your honey to accompany you on work travel, meetings, conferences, or to the gym. Remember, it’s the LITTLE things that mean so much to your loved ones.
Without special time together, relationships can grow apart or simply become stale. However, you cannot simply replace doing nothing with doing the exact same thing week after week. The very predictable dinner and a movie can be okay if mixed up with some other types of dates. GET CREATIVE!!! Here are a few suggestions: go to a bookstore or library and read together, visit a museum, zoo or park, get together and collect clothes for a shelter, or set up a little work-out time at your local gym. Anything that will allow you two to have some one on one time would be worth it.
One sample of a creative date night is to pop some popcorn, grab the iPad or tablet and you and your honey sit down and surf through some funny you tube clips. Trust me, my husband and I did this and was on the iPad for hours laughing at everything under the sun. What a fun and inexpensive date night to have.
If you want to have a blissful relationship, you will need to get your debt under control (or at least a plan to do so). Otherwise, your debt will control you and affect you emotionally and psychologically.
When you get a paycheck, the first thing you should do is set aside money for charity/church. It may not seem logical, but it works. Sit down with your partner and discuss all aspects of your family budget. Once you analyze your spending habits, you will understand and realize where you are wasting money. It is a great opportunity to talk about your goals and dreams with each other. Realize that frivolously spending can be a sign of disrespect for your relationship and your significant other would not be able to trust you with money, or anything else for that matter, if you cannot control your spending.
If you would like a bigger diamond ring or a fancier car, ask yourself why. Take a quick inventory of all the items you own but could really live without. Consider how much you paid for these items. What if you did not buy those items and kept all of that money in a savings account instead? Would it make a difference in how you view your job, your family and your future? If you want to live a better lifestyle find more ways to bring in extra income.
