Tell Him From Your Heart...
by: Lady Elle

Hi Saloni,

Let him know from your heart, that it hurt you that he chose to honor his parent's wishes and marry someone else. You had to respect his decision to do that and he needs to respect your decision to part ways. In order for you to heal, you would rather not be friends with him and move on. Tell him that one day you may be able to but there is no guarantee of that.

Let me know how it turns out hun! :-)

Tricky Situation!
by: Lady Elle

Hi Saloni,

From my understanding, in some areas of India, it is customary for families to arrange marriages. If your ex boyfriend's family has chosen someone else for him to marry and he agreed, there isn't much you can do about it. I can see if he did not agree to it. But, HE agreed with his parents to go through with it.

I understand that this is probably hurtful for you and I am sorry for your pain. You can try and have a conversation with him about it. Maybe ask him what you could do to help persuade his parents to consider you as his future wife. Or ask him to have a conversation with his parents to find out why you were not chosen to be his future wife. Maybe something happened that can be corrected on your end. However, some people are really into traditions and if that is your ex and his family, he will follow his parents wishes.

If that does not work, I suggest you move on to find someone who wants the same things as you and one who is on the same level as you are. Another thing, when you do find someone new, make sure you find out, in the beginning, if they and their families are into keeping traditions. This will definitely save you more heartache later.

Good luck sweetheart!
